About Us

Sharing the past experiences and trials that my brother and I have undergone, we want to encourage people to live a Boundless life.

Our Story

Major Troy “Trojan” Gilbert, U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter pilot, is an American hero...and also our father. In September of 2006, he volunteered to serve his country in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. We had no idea that the moment before he stepped on the plane to deploy would be the last we would spend together. He told me and my brother, at the time six and eight years old, to take care of our mom and three little sisters. On November 27, 2006, while flying a surveillance mission near Taji, Iraq, he got a call from a crashed helicopter containing 22 Army Special Operators. While gunning insurgent trucks that were closing in on the crash site and simultaneously taking heavy enemy fire, his plane crashed and he was killed upon impact. What we did not know at that moment was that his body was going to be taken by insurgents. During the memorial service at Arlington in December of 2006, something was missing that should not have been... the finality of burying him in the United States. His body would not be returned to the States until the fall of 2016, following which he was given another full burial with honors on the ten year anniversary of the first one.

As brothers and the last of the Gilbert sons, we desire to carry on our father's legacy of courage and sacrifice. His selfless act saved the lives of more than 30 total Americans, who were able to go home and see their families. His comrades described him as a fearless warrior, a calming leader, and most of all - a man of God who loved his family and country fiercely. These are the attributes that we strive to live out each day.
Following our father’s death, by the grace of God we have experienced many amazing things. One program has had the biggest impact on us as men - a camp for sons of fallen soldiers in Colorado called Knights of Heroes. Knights of Heroes kickstarted in 2007 by a fighter pilot who was one of my dad’s closest friends. Guided by mentors, we endured a week of challenging, yet exciting activities in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We have participated in extreme downhill mountain biking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and have lived out of a backpack for a week's hike - over 15 miles a day. We have spent a week at this camp every summer since its birth, and it has given us more than we could have imagined. Besides instilling in us a love for the outdoors, it has taught us mental toughness, perseverance, and valuable lessons on being a man in today’s world. This is where the word "Boundless" came into play. For us, being boundless means two things:
Not being limited to what our fears tell us we can and can't do.
Not being limited to who the world says we should be, but living fully into who we were meant to be in Christ.

"For since He Whom God has sent speaks the words of God, God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit."
John 3:34
